Breathe the Heat

Days longer, light stronger
The smell of summer sun death
The type of smell the grass gives off
When it runs out of plant breath.

Heat choking, air smoking
The sun turns in to fire.
The type of fire the burns for weeks.
‘Till lungs begin to tire.
