A visitor to my site suggested that I explain how
a Pagan Path can change one's life.
I've taken some time to reflect on this,
and would like to share my thoughts with you.
Looking back, I did not discover my Path,
my Path discovered me.
It was something that had always been with me,
it just took a major life change to reveal itself
to me.
At a certain point, being Agnostic was not enough
for me.
Whenever anyone asked, even at a young age,
I would reply that while I did not believe in the
Christian form of God, I did, however,
believe in the Divine Energy of the Universe.
I knew that those universal tides pull us,
and that the tides here on earth bind us to it,
in a constant exchange of matter and energy.
To go from a logical thinker to a believer,
took some faith and a lot of soul searching.
And in truth, that search is far from over.
But, in the Goddess, I found a link to the Divine
within myself.
This concept is something that I think many woman
struggle with on their way to understanding "God".
And thus, my relationship with the Goddess gave
way to a healthy relationship with her consort,
the God;
replacing the old ideas of what the feminine &
masculine energies represented to me.
This balance, in my belief, has brought me strength,
wisdom and clarity. In a years time I went from
being a very angry, closed-minded person to a much
happier, open-minded woman, free to think and choose
and speak my mind.
I am now much more open to the energies of the world
around me, and I feel them shift in the people and
places which surround me. My relationships with
myself and the people in my life have become deeper,
richer, and more fulfilling.
Becoming a Pagan, being a Witch, Practicing Magick
and
Celebrating the Turning of the Wheel has given me
an understanding of life that I never thought possible.
It has given me the space to think, not just do.
At the end of the day, I know I have a reason to
be here,
and I am forever grateful for that. I have learned
to recognize life lessons, and have been given the
tools to incorporate those lessons into life.
But
above all else, I have learned patience,
forgiveness, and have been given the ability to
love myself.
And in the end, what more can one person ask for?
